If you did not know who Anna Wintour is, you might be surprised to find out that she is maybe one of the most powerful woman in the fashion industry. It is she who decides what is interesting and stylish for this season and what isn’t, and she can give a new designer the impulse to create something extraordinary. Why does she have this power? Anna Wintour is the Editor-in-Chief of Vogue USA, and has held this position since 1988.
Her passion for media comes from the family, as her father was the editor of the Evening Standard in London. She started by working for a few small magazines, until she started working with Vogue in the U.K. After less than a year, she decided that she wanted to move to the United States, so she left for New York to try to make Vogue USA great again. We can say that she knew what she was doing since the magazine was propelled to the top and has continued its reputation for greatness since she took over the magazine.
She is, of course, a very controversial person and there are many people who say that the movie “The Devil Wears Prada” was inspired by her personality. She was criticized a number of times for promoting natural fur, and many people say that she is promoting unhealthy beauty standards.
Even so, she does not seem to care about all the criticism, and her only concern is to keep the magazine as successful as it is now. With her signature haircut and her amazing outfits, she is a dominating presence no matter where she goes, even though she is usually hiding behind a pair of dark sun glasses.
