More than six decades ago, Christian Dior conducted a show at Blenheim Palace. It was actually a benefit event for the Red Cross where the designer presented his newest couture creations. This May, Dior went back to this grand country house in Woodstock, Oxfordshire in England to exhibit its Spring/Summer 2017 Cruise Collection.
On the day of the Christian Dior event, celebrities and clients headed to Blenheim Palace via the Dior Blenheim Express train. Guests Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, Kate Beckinsale, and Elizabeth Olsen graced the fashion show wearing their breathtaking ensembles. The affair started with Natalie Massanet, the British Fashion Council Chairman, raising a glass of wine while cheering "J'adore Dior!"
As expected in any Dior show venues, the setting has been embellished with hundreds of thousands of flowers. The already splendid venue turned into an extremely kingly spot. But what really marked this affair was the Dior spring/summer cruise collection, which was comprised of fashion pieces that somehow depicted British history.
The models appeared on the runway with the much-needed confidence, sporting various Dior masterpieces including floral dresses, peplum blouses, and more, which were characterized with Dior’s signature touch - elaborated textural embellishment. Most represented English countryside with a twist of Parisian couture.
The Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2017 Cruise Collection at Blenheim Palace has been a great affair. Nobody knows when the same fashion grandeur will take place again at this popular destination. But fashion aficionados are certain that Christian Dior will not run out of amazing ideas as to where its upcoming shows will be held.
